About the Health Coach

Hey, Hi, Hello!

Hi, I’m Hilary—a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach and the founder of Rediscover Wellness LLC in Winston-Salem, NC.

I help adults over 40 who feel frustrated and disconnected from their body foster intentional practices that bring self-compassion, balance, and renewed energy. Together, we build sustainable habits that support purposeful and more joyful living.

Our wellness needs naturally evolve as we age. What worked for us in our younger years may no longer serve us the same way today. Supporting our health and well-being requires making conscious lifestyle adjustments that honor our ever-changing bodies. But making these changes can be hard.

It’s easy to be tempted by social media trends, pharmaceutical claims, or “miracle” products, especially when you’re feeling stuck. Yet these quick fixes rarely lead to lasting results and can leave you feeling like something is wrong when they don’t work.

True wellness doesn’t happen overnight, and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution. That’s where I come in. As a health coach, I guide clients through a process of self-discovery, helping them build sustainable, meaningful habits one mindful step at a time.

Health coaching for simple lifestyle changes

My coaching is rooted in partnership. I believe that every person already holds the wisdom they need to live a healthier, more fulfilling life. My role is to help you uncover that wisdom through guided reflection, practical tools, and compassionate support. Together, we explore what matters most to you in your current stage of life and take small, practical steps that fit your lifestyle, so you can move forward with confidence and joy.

I coach from a place of curiosity, not judgment. We will talk about your strengths, past successes, and current capabilities because when you build on what’s already working, you become more efficient and gain faster momentum toward personal goals. I believe in progress over perfection, and that meaningful change comes from consistent actions that honor your values.

I received my health coaching education from the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute (now partnered with the American Council on Exercise), where I earned two specialized life-stage certifications to support families with children and aging adults in living happier, more vibrant lives.

The cornerstone of my training was the Master Health Coach Certification—an immersive and comprehensive program focused on evidence-based behavior change. Through this extensive training, I developed the practical, client-centered coaching skills needed to support individuals in creating and sustaining meaningful, self-directed wellness goals. I also completed advanced training in chronic disease management and prevention, equipping me to support clients facing a wide range of health challenges.

In 2024, I became board certified through the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching (NBHWC), recognized by the American Medical Association as the gold standard in health coaching. My approach is rooted in identifying and building upon each individual’s strengths and past successes, fostering motivation and growth with a forward-focused, supportive mindset.

Prior to health coaching, I was a nationally board-certified dental assistant, working in family dental and orthodontic settings with both children and adults for over 12 years. I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where I focused on human health and development.

My diverse background and commitment to continuous learning have deepened my appreciation for each person’s unique journey that is shaped by their values, strengths, and evolving experiences. Drawing from both my professional and personal experiences, I take a holistic, evidence-based approach to coaching, helping clients build sustainable habits that support long-term health and well-being.

My work has shown me the powerful impact of caring for yourself. When you consistently meet your body’s needs, your physical and mental health strengthen, your energy and focus improve, and your relationships begin to flourish. Over time, this creates a stronger sense of purpose, greater confidence, and a more fulfilling, balanced life.

Helping others achieve wellness isn’t just my work, it’s how I live, too. Some of my favorite ways to recharge include Pilates, kickboxing, and interval training, all of which challenge me while keeping me moving. In the kitchen, I love experimenting with whole-food meals and healthier baked goods, especially when I can win the taste approval of my family!

I thrive on quality time with my family and close friends, exploring the outdoors, gardening, reading, listening to podcasts, and helping others. And I never miss a chance to enjoy the sweet and silly moments with my two fur-babies: Theo, a 14-year-old Shih Tzu, and Tessa, an 12-year-old Australian Shepherd mix.
